In close collaboration with the École des Gobelins, I had the privilege of conceptualizing and creating the logo for the Museum of Modern Art in the City of Paris, as well as developing the web pages dedicated to the retrospective of the artist Mathieu Mercier. This project was a true immersion into the world of contemporary art and visual communication.

My approach to designing the logo was carefully considered. I opted for a geometric style that masterfully translated the very essence of the museum. This choice effectively captured the elegance and simplicity of the colonnade adjacent to the museum, creating an immediate perception of the entrance, like an invitation to enter this culturally rich space. The typographic characters placed to the right of the logo subtly guide the eye and evoke the movement of a visit, reinforcing the dynamic aspect of the institution.The color palette I selected also deserves special attention. White, black, and gray were chosen for their ability to embody sobriety and elegance. These neutral shades serve as a backdrop to highlight the central color, orange, which becomes the focal point and visual strength of the logo. This strategic use of color enhances the visual identity of the museum while adding a touch of energy and creativity.

The web pages I designed for Mathieu Mercier’s retrospective follow the same graphic dynamic as the logo. They are characterized by a white background, enhanced by subtle shades of gray that structure various visual elements. The chosen typography is delicate and elegant, reflecting the institutional nature of the event while ensuring optimal readability. Photographs of Mathieu Mercier’s works come to life on these web pages, showcasing every plastic and chromatic aspect of his creations in perfect harmony with the museum’s essence.

This project was a genuine exercise in visual harmony and understanding the communication challenges in the world of contemporary art. By closely collaborating with the École des Gobelins and applying my expertise in graphic design, I contributed to strengthening the identity and visibility of the Museum of Modern Art in the City of Paris while celebrating the exceptional work of the artist Mathieu Mercier.
